Local by need. Durable by default.

The bay’s always a bit messy, a bit loud and that’s how we like it.
This is where every board starts under led tubes and with dust in the air.
We build with our hands, our eyes, and the memory of local waves.

Shaped for here

NoShape started in Sri Lanka, simply because this is where we live and surf.
We shape boards in the same place they’ll be ridden in local conditions,
with real feedback from the water.
The heat, the reef, the power of the waves everything here affects
how a board should behave.
We listen to what the waves tell us, adjust outlines, test rocker, and refine volumes.
The boards we make come straight from that process:
nothing added, nothing removed, just what works here.

Made in the dust

The shaping bay is at the heart of NoShape.
It’s not flashy, but it’s where everything happens — cutting, checking, refining, sometimes restarting.
We test ideas on the spot, adapt designs in real-time, and rely on hands, not presets. Every board is a small set of decisions — some deliberate, others instinctive — all shaped into a form we can ride.
It’s a process that values precision, but not perfection. Because what matters is how it feels underfoot once you’re surfing. how a board should behave. We listen to what the waves tell us, adjust outlines, test rocker, and refine volumes.
The boards we make come straight from that process:
nothing added, nothing removed, just what works here.

Used like it’s meant to be

Every board we make is intended to be used often ideally, daily.
We shape for surfers who live close to the water, who ride because it’s part of their routine, not a special occasion.
That’s why we pay attention to durability, efficiency, and simple, readable outlines. The boards don’t need explanation. They just need wax, saltwater, and someone ready to go. And if something needs to change, we take the board back into the bay and change it.

It’s as simple as that.
